* Even using clean spore solution, the act of puncturing the bag with a needle can introduce a small amount of contaminants.  The additional time required for spores to develop into mycelium can potentially be enough for the competitor microbes to become dominant.  For this reason we recommend using clean liquid culture from a trusted source.
